Fishing

So I had been wanting to take the kids fishing again all summer but never got around to it - it took hanging out with our fishing partners to get us there again. We went to the same nice little lake that we went to last year but Bradley didn't have his same luck as last time :) There were other people fishing, and the people walking right next to us throwing rocks into the lake I'm sure didn't help our chances. We were on our very last worm when Grady caught a fish and everyone got so excited, then quickly turned sad because the hook had gone too far into the mouth of the fish and we couldn't get it out. After trying for quite a while with no luck we had to borrow a knife from some people nearby and cut off the poor fishies head :( So this fishing trip, although fun for the majority of the time, ended in a lot of tears and I think my kids (and myself) might be too scared to fish again in the future. We all felt really bad!

Birthday hike

I had my birthday planned for months - a couple years ago we went to the Wild Animal Sanctuary and I loved it so that was the plan. 2 days before my birthday they changed their policy for visitors and wouldn't allow anyone in without a $250 donation - so that was out. So we decided to go on a hike instead. We went to Rocky Mountain National Park and went on a couple of little, easy hikes because we are not normally hikers. It was so much fun, and so nice to be away and in the beautiful mountains, and the weather was perfect. I think I took about 300 pictures, but I narrowed it down a little :)

Sweet Heart

This girl will be the best Mommy some day. She is the sweetest. We've actually had a lot of talks about her being a Mommy when she grows up. Before she was set on never being a Mommy because all she seems to remember from me being in the hospital giving birth to her sister and brother is that I had to have a needle in my arm - and she for sure does not want a needle in her arm. I have explained that it was definitely worth it, and she'd feel the same way when she was older :) Now she will say every now and then that she wants 2 kids when she gets older, a boy and a girl.
