Day before Easter

We tried a couple different Egg Hunts this year. The first one we went to was ridiculous, just like last year - WAY too many people! If I didn't already tell the kids we were going to hunt for eggs we would have turned around and went back home. I had to drop them off then drive down the street to the next neighborhood and walk quite a ways back to the park. Then the area was TINY for the amount of people that were there. 0-2 year olds went first and we were not right at the front so by the time we shuffled in all the eggs were gone. I was getting really worried because Gracie was SO into it and was really searching and searching. I'm guessing someone must have accidentally dropped one of their many eggs because out of no where she picked one up and was SO excited! Thank goodness she found her one, and she was happy. The other one we went to was the opposite, not a lot of people and no rules. We just grabbed a couple of eggs each and went home. I have very mixed feelings about public Easter Egg Hunts. They can be a lot of fun, but then people can get so pushy and mean too. Also, I think they'd be a lot better if there was a limit on the number of people, otherwise it's just too chaotic!

Sadly the eggs didn't last very long. Gracie would hold 2 in her hands and smash them together so a few of them were broken. Then the next morning we came downstairs and Bradley said "The Easter Bunny took all of the eggs and hid them except for these 3" Out of our 10 eggs that we dyed and decorated, Nestle had eaten 7 of them that night. I guess I wasn't thinking she would go after the eggs, but I was wrong. At least we had fun dying them :)

Tough Cookie

Doesn't Gracie look tough with her black eye and tattoos? :) Right before we were leaving for our softball game last week Bradley and Gracie went outside and Bradley found a piece of fence on the ground and of course picked it up and swung it like a bat and Gracie was standing too close :( Thank God it didn't get her eye, it was about 1/2 an inch away from being VERY bad.

Exercising

Now that baby Sammie is here and I still, very much so, have the 'baby pooch' leftover, I've been trying to exercise whenever and wherever I get the chance. Lately this means I run up and down the stairs 10 times and then do some pilates moves that I remember from classes years ago. The kids decided they wanted to join in.
As you can see in the video, Bradley quickly looses interest and doesn't want to exercise anymore... neither do I Bradley, neither do I...

Sammie's 2 Months

At her 2 month check up she was 10 pounds 21 inches - in about the mid twentieth percentile of both, even though I don't pay any attention to those :) She did such a great job at the doctor. After her shots she screamed 2 big times, then I picked her up and she was silent. At first we thought she was still crying, just one of those silent cries, but no - she had completely stopped and was fine :) Sweet sweet baby! She is starting to play with her tongue a lot and smile more and more. I have given up the fight with the pacifier and am happy with it now :) Even my doctor was like, "some babies just need to suck, just give it to her!" She has slept 7 hours at night a few times now, which is sure nice! She sleeps for long periods in the first part of the night still and the later part she can be up every hour or so. Then she'll usually take a long nap during the day or 4-5 hours, so she's a GREAT sleeper, just like her sister! The day she turned 2 months we turned our backs for 1 minute while she was in the pack-n-play and Gracie had her diaper off and was trying to change her diaper. I know she's just trying to be helpful and it's pretty darn cute.

Spring is here!!

Horray for nice weather! The kids just love to play outside. I have high hopes for this summer - one of them being to do a garden for the first time. I want to do one every year and every year I don't get around to it. But I know the kids would love it and I would have a lot of fun doing it with them. I won't have to get too dirty or see too many bugs right?? :) I also would like to put together a nice sand box for them, even though they seem perfectly content playing in the dirt :)
