Family pics

Tammy was kind enough to take some pictures of us after I was realizing we hadn't gotten professional pictures of the family for a while and didn't have a whole lot of all of us together. Of course the kids did NOT want to cooperate, making Tammy's job kind of difficult but somehow she still managed to get some cute pictures - she was very patient with us :)This one makes me laugh and sad at the same time :) :( We were trying to get Bradley to hold her hand and walk and he was all for it but she did NOT want to, then he gave up and ran away and that made her even more sad...

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was great, but not as great as it usually is because we were missing the Townsends this year. Mindy had to work so we decided to have a Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving at our house, then another one at her house that weekend. Somehow with schedules and so much on everyone's plate the weekend one at Mindy's house never happened so we didn't get to spend Thanksgiving with her and her family, which I think is the first time that has ever happened, which was very sad for everyone.BUT it was still a great Thanksgiving with the rest of the family. Any time I can just be around family and hang out and play games - that's all I ever ask for! Then you add great food to that and you just can't go wrong!The kids enjoying their meals... wait, that's not true! They were SO preoccupied with everyone there they didn't want to eat AT ALL!Playing games after stuffing ourselves full of food, something I would like to do every day of the year :)

Trick or Treating!

Kevin was able to join us for the downtown trick or treating this year, which was great. The kids' most favorite candy is suckers and of course as soon as we started they got some suckers and Gracie was DONE. She did not want me to take it away and put it in her bag and she had no reason to keep going in her mind, she already got what she wanted. When she was done with her sucker and actually started taking more candy, she still wanted to hold onto it and not put it in the bag. Then when she went to the next place she would try to exchange the candy in her hand for the new candy :)Probably not the best thing to teach Bradley - that he can stop trains on the railroad track as Superman :) He just LOVES his trains and there is a train track right next to Mom's work so when we went to see her we decided to let him take a closer look at the track and couldn't pass up taking a picture of him like this (even though it's hard to even tell he's on the tracks :) )Trick or Treating that night up and down our street - the perfect amount of houses for their age!Enjoying the fruits of their labor :)

Pumpkin Carving

I wasn't sure how Bradley and Gracie would do with carving this year. Gracie didn't care at all last year and is VERY particular and if she's sees something out of place it really bothers her, so I didn't know what she would think about gutting the pumpkin :) Bradley has always been very clean so sometimes he hesitates to get his hands dirty - but they both loved it!!!They both shared one pumpkin and once Bradley showed Gracie how to do it, she was all in.Then she decided it might be more fun to put the pumpkin guts in Bradley's hair than the bowl... Bradley did not agree...Bradley was doing such a good job taking all the guts out and putting them in the bowl, but then Gracie decided that she would undo all his hard work. Every time he would put a big scoop in the bowl, Gracie would reach into the bowl and put the scoop right back into the pumpkin. It was very funny, Bradley didn't seem to mind at all, he was just hard at work - and so was she. After a while I had to say something though because emptying out the pumpkin was going to be a never ending task with them working in different directions :)Kevin is SO creative! His pumpkin was the best pumpkin I've ever seen. He got out all his power tools and supplies and went to work on his big pumpkin eating the small alien pumpkin - it turned out great!I did the carving for Bradley's pumpkin and he just told me what shapes he wanted for the eyes, nose and how to do the mouth - I think he was happy with the result :)Our completed pumpkin family!

Halloween Party

The Annual Kerr Halloween Party! Here's Mommy comforting Gracie after Poppy and Craig came over, between the face paint and the masks she was not a happy girl, Bradley wasn't even a fan at first. When he answered the door when Poppy knocked he took one look, then looked away with big eyes while slowly closing the door behind him - he sure did not want to let in whomever that was :)Tammy and Craig as Black - Mail :)My homemade costume! I got the idea online and thought it was such a cute idea, it took about 3 times longer than I was anticipating, BUT I thought it turned out great so it was worth it! Kevin helped me with his artistic skills, so it definitely would not have looked like this if he didn't lend a hand :)Superman flying!Believe it or not - the Townsend family :)Bradley really enjoyed being Superman, he was constantly flexing his muscles and wanted to wear it all the time. As soon as I would put it on he'd say "Mommy, are you in trouble???" and I'd say "Yes, save me" and he'd come running with his cape flying behind him. Gracie got used to the routine too so any time I would say "Is it a bird?" she'd yell "NO", then "Is it a plane", again "NO" - "It's SUPERMAN!"

Pumpkin Patch

Getting PUMPKINS! Our friends told us about this pumpkin patch out on Hwy 14 right before Ault and they had such high praise we thought we'd try it out! Last year we waited too late and just picked some up at Safeway and I really wanted to go to a patch this year. It worked out great because we were on our way to Grandma's house and it was on the way and it was a beautiful day. We didn't have a lot of time to go roaming around the patch, but we didn't need to - they had SO many stacked high on hay bails and such a great selection!The kids got right into it and picked out their favorites (even though of course Gracie fell asleep 2 minutes before we got there and had to wake her up)They had really cool colors and all different textures on the pumpkins - I don't think I've ever seen bumpy green and gray pumpkins before, I loved it!Bradley had a great time finding ALL that he could, we ended up with quite a stack! All in all we got about 20 pumpkins for $20!!! We will definitely be returning next year :)
